You should take a look at http://www.linguisticagents.com. It’s a start-up company that has developed a natural language understanding technology that will be used in many applications in addition to search.

The link is corrupted (remove the last dot). I haven’t found any examples of their success… Natural language search is so hard to implement. Hope they’ll do their best!
